Dave, were you trying to buy your Tamron brand new? I am thinking you
were. I, OTOH, bought both of them (Tamron and Sigma) second hand having
asked for sample photos, etc. This is what I would recommend to any one
- either buy second hand with lots of sample shots or agree upfront with
the shop that you are going to come and cherry pick.
Having had that unfortunately encounter with ever soft brand new FA
50/1.4 taught me some lessons...
