While diddling around at the computer this evening, I was playing with a
lens hood, and while looking through it I noticed that everything seemed
a little sharper, just like looking through a toilet paper tube, etc. 
OK, that's how the human eye works, but does a camera lens "see" things
to be sharper when using a lens hood, and is the image on the film
sharper, apart from any increase in contrast or flare reduction?

Alright, I've got too much free time and not enough DVDs to watch.
