Would you be talking about me?  :-)

I got a black car because I was buying used, and finding a car
with the options I wanted at a price I was prepared to pay pretty
much meant I bought the black one on the lot or I waited around
until something else showed up; that could be in a few weeks, but
it could easily have been not for several months.

(I was looking for a particular transmission option , which had
only been introduced two years earlier.  That meant I was pretty
much looking for cars coming off a two-year lease).
