Not sure if the note for note people get into the US or other
countries, but , they are a group of really really good studio
musicians that go on tour and play an album, could be Led Zepplen 1 or
The Wall, or what ever. Main thing is they are so dam close to the
original its scary.

Liz and I don't like a lot of late 70's to now music, but we do like
MJ's Thriller album. The Note for Note group is doing Thriller along
with 3 other albums over the winter, (Sgt Peppers is one i can think
of) at the Markham Theater, so i bought tickets for Liz and I for
Thriller as a Christmas present.

I'll be creeped out if they get Vincent Price to do the voice over.

I've never heard of a particular group named "Note for Note", but there are lots of tribute bands.

Two good Beatles tributes are "Beatlemania" and "Rain". Years ago, there was a particularly good one from the Charlotte NC area called the Spongetones.

NC Museum of Art in Raleigh has an outdoor film series every summer, where the team musical acts with movies. It's like movies at a drive-in, only with lawn chairs instead of cars.

I went to a screening of "A Hard Days Night" there when the restored copy was in limited theatrical release.

They had the Spongetones on stage before the film, and then afterwards the producer, Walter Shenson, gave a talk about making the film ... guess that must have been in the summer of 2000.

Search Google Maps for "35.809997,-78.702992" - zoom in and you can see the stage & seats. The screen is mounted on the outside wall of the building just above the letter 'P'.

BTW - they've finished a new museum building that shows up as a brown dirt scar just to the north of the outdoor theater.

Oh, and I hope you enjoy the show.
