Boathouse Row in Philadelphia is a series of Victorian-era boathouses on the
eastern bank of the Schuylkill ("SKOO kul") River. They are clubhouses for
rowers, whose racing shells are on the river in all seasons and weather. My
wife and I had a tour of a couple of the boathouses one evening last month.
