I'm certain others will join me in their memories of similar
situations where one doesn't really want to move, even breathe deeply,
as the sunburn is hurting so that clothes are a burden to wear. Ouch!

P.S. Youngsters, read this. Because of several such episodes in my
life, I have a seven inch scar on my upper left back and shoulder
where a migrating melanoma was removed 3 years ago.

One study showed that people who have had three or more episodes of
severe sunburn during their childhood are at an increased risk for
developing melanoma. It is believed that the amount of time spent
outdoors between the ages of 10 and 24 is most crucial to the
incidence of melanoma. Brief, intermittent, intense periods of UV
radiation exposure are considered more dangerous than continuous but
less intense exposure, even if the total amount of exposure is the same.
And there is a lot more on the above link.
