Here are some pictures that were in my camera. Some from the trip Mike

yesterday, others just snaps from around:

If the above doesn't work, try this and look on the second row.

Yes indeed, it is Peter the Great. He lived in John Evelyn's house, Sayes
Court, in Deptford for a while when he was studying ship-building in
Deptford. Apparently he completely trashed Evelyn's house. The garden was
said to be the finest in England. It survives as a rather forlorn
corporation park where people like to sit and smoke ganja or drink cider.
I was struck by the similarity to the statue in St Petersburg. Didn't
realise it was actually him. Was he really so pinheaded?
My guess is that the statue was an unwanted Christmas present that Putin
managed to palm off to Lewisham Council. It's so bad it's magnificent - I'm
very fond of it. There is an inscription in Russian which Chris
photographed; we hope one of the Russophones will be able to translate it.
Although I could read it, I couldn't make sense of it.
You could have ended up with the one in Moscow.

I like the "camera obscura" effect of the Naval College shot. The
protrait of
moi, not so much...
Well, indeed. I never like pictures of me, except the one Chris did in
Birmingham a few weeks ago. They say that by the time he's 30 a man has the
face he deserves. I don't know what I did to deserve this one.
Pales into insignificance compared to what I did to get this body....
Must visit Greenwich next time we are slumming.
yes please!
Maybe nearer Christmas. Can send the females off shopping....
