That's normal behavior. You don't see your own messages until somebody
replies to it.

I used to get my own e-mails back from the list when I was using
Mindspring. Gmail strips my messages out. I've created an annoying
bandwidth wasting hack to get them back. But Google's paying for it so
I don't really care.
