I have to say the thought had crossed my mind but I believe I can cope. I'm
feeling a lot better today so I'm just taking it as it comes. It was really
the combination of a lack of sleep and the work situation but I feel a bit more
settled today. I'm actually glad that we're working from home as I can take a
more relaxed attitude with noone around to crack the whip (Skype
notwithstanding). And I have fewer interruptions.

No union here for people in IT (as far as I know), and to be honest I don't
like the unions much. They've been responsible for some very good progress in
the past but they sometimes tend to cross the line with their negotiations. My
opinion is swayed a bit by some of the strikes. We had a radiographer strike
just recently and it really screws the patients over.

I have plenty of things to get snotty about but the boss is already aware of
them.

The boss sent out an email this morning saying they were giving us 2 extra days
of annual leave. I'm not really sure how I feel about that. I'm still
displeased about the apparent desperation to get us all back to work. The city
council gave their staff the entire week off, and they didn't do that
retrospectively. Something like that does let people get out and support their
community which is what we really need at a time like this.

I don't want to go into too many details but there has been a lot of discontent
among our staff for some time and I think this situation has brought things a
bit closer to breaking point.

Cheers,
Dave
