A perfect example just happened here in Canada, where our federal government just handed out $9 Billion for Lockheed-Martin F35 stealth fighter jets. The contract was ~untendered~. Other than military folk (who are always asking for more money and equipment) I haven't heard a hue and cry from the general population for these weapons. You don't think that Lockheed-Martin had a more than a few back room meetings with our boys in Ottawa to land that juicy little deal? Whose interests were reflected in that contract, the voting public or the largest producer of military aircraft in the world? cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
