Thanks, Ann. Yes, the sun is a bit too bright, but in exposures where the sun is more tolerable, the cruise ship is dull and the dock even uglier than is this version.
You are also right that the b/w image is trite, but then I have never been the most innovative or imaginative photographer . . . .
