When I saw it in the park I thought it might be goldenrod, but knowing
nothing about flora (or much about fauna, for that matter) I deferred
to Bob's judgment in the matter.

I'll let you two (and other list members) fight it out as to what it
might be.  I know it's yellow and monarchs love it.  It was the only
thing in the area that seemed to be attracting them.
