That first one is great, Boris, and it's with our favourite lens too! :-)

Thanks, Miserere. Yes, I intend to give it a proper workout on a film body once it gets fixed by Pentax Israel.

Criticism: I don't like that glass in the foreground. Not much you can
do about it unless your Photoshop Fu is very strong. I kept looking at
the photo trying to not pay attention to it, but it bothered me. Maybe
because it's of all the strong reflections it has. I hope you don't
mind me telling you this!

If you saw it and did not tell, then I would have minded ;-). Thanks. This image is cropped a bit so as to minimize the offending effect that you mentioned, but I may have made a mistake nonetheless. Well, I did not want to be all too in the face of that waitress...

The smoking hand is great too, well spotted.

Thanks!

I don't wish to derail the thread, but I have a question about the A
50mm f/1.2. I used it a bit on the Samsung NX10 (due to the increased
focusing accuracy) and found it to perform fantastically well in short
to medium distances, say up to 15m. Beyond that, I needed to stop it
down to at least f/5.6 to achieve sharp images, which would make this
lens useless for astrophotography (or not ideal, anyway). Have you
noticed this too?

Most recently I noticed that my sample does not rotate all the way to the infinity leaving me to rely on DOF to get a reasonable picture. Prior to that I did not notice any such problem but I usually use it wide open playing for DOF and therefore significantly closer than infinity.

If you wish, I can either look up in my photo collection and take specific shots as per your instructions to ascertain what you suggest. In fact, I'd be glad to help you because such a knowledge may prove useful to many people.

Boris
