In dim lighting with a slow lens, the LCD refresh is quite slow on ANY live view camera as the sensor has to collect enough light to make a decent image. In these situations, yes: you will get slo-mo slide shows of moving things.
On the other hand, with EVF and LCD cameras I can see *something* on the screen in situations that make it impossible to see *anything* with an optical reflex viewfinder.
