Thanks David (and others). The reason for looking at a conversion is that your view through the finder remains the same which gives you the option to work in lower light conditions. I'd be interested in trying IR flash and I'm not sure whether I'd be able to focus in light that dim (I.e. dim enough that the flash would make a difference). There is one guy on eBay, Isaac Szabo (szabophotograph) who says he can do it for $215 plus postage which seems like a reasonable deal. Of course I'm paying air-mail both ways, but it shouldn't be over the top. The spencerscamera.cm site has a lot of info on it which is helpful in understanding the differences between the various wavelength filters.
