Do you also get this URGE!!

Well, yes, and it is called CBA and LBA respectively. CBA being Camera Buying Addiction and LBA being Lens Buying Addiction. On PDML it is called "enablement" (wink wink nod nod).

Personally, I see no reason for me to upgrade any further than to the full frame that Pentax does not have at the moment. There is always the question of replacing/fixing the gear that breaks down, but that's another story.

In fact, looking at pictures Galia is making with her K10D I realize that except having two cameras for two photographers I had no /real/ reason to move from K10D to K-7 as well...

This is what marketing talk wants you to believe that if you buy this new lens or that new camera, you will suddenly become a better photographer. Well, it is just plain wrong. Unless you *know* why you need this or that, you don't *really* have or need to upgrade.

Say, you have a weak eyesight and they introduce a camera with bigger, clearer, brighter viewfinder and you have examined the difference and found it making less strain on your eyes - then upgrade. Or if you shoot a lot with flash and they have significantly upgraded that - more flash technology supported, whatever - then upgrade. Or if you, like Ralf, shoot a lot in low light and they have dramatically improved low light performance and made noise reduction options significantly more flexible (such as being able to turn it off at any time) - then upgrade. But, if you, like me, don't make use any of the above (sans the viewfinder, but the difference between K10D and K-7 is truly infinitesimal) then why bother? Better spend the money on a trip or big prints or photo albums...
