Ooops, we got into a heated debate over pushing film... I think the original sender asked about "Which high-speed film"...
To offer some advice on that subject <g>: I know it sounds bad, but try your own. Get some D3200, some TMZ, some HP5+, some TX (the last two are very similar, so you can test just one of them if one is cheaper). Get Microphen for the HP5+, use it dilluted 1+0 and discard it after each film. Get some Tetenal Emofin and run a test roll at different EIs and select which EI in Emofin gives you best results and shoot the film at that EI (Emofin is a non-push but speed increasing developer. You don't push in it, you test which EI is best. Usually, it gives pretty good increase to film sensitivity with very nice normal contrast, being a compensating developer). Try the Delta 3200 in Microphen too, and try the TMZ in Microphen as well. If you feel like experimentative, try TMAX for the TMZ (although I dislike this combo and think MPH is better fot TMZ than TMAX). All in all, your results might be pretty different to our results, depending on how you develop, how you agitate, how you expose, etc. I think the best advice is try it yourself :) Of these three (four) films, one will certainly suit you with tonality, grain, contrast and shadow detail YOU like. I like HP5+ the best, Shel likes D3200 the best. I get better results from HP5+ than TMZ, somebody else can get better results from TMZ than HP5+/TX. Unless done in really scientific manner with everything controlled to 1/10 of degree C, same agitation, distilled water, same developing tank, same exposure... results can be pretty different. And what's more - everyone's liking is different. Good light, Frantisek Vlcek - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
