Radio New Zealand National put together an audio documentary about the Canterbury earthquake. I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago and I've only just had the time to sit down and listen to it. You can download it from their website:
http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/documentaries/faultlines I found it really interesting to hear the comments of the people who were interviewed as many of them shared the same kind of psychological impact that I did. It's just over 40 minutes long and if you live in an earthquake-prone area you might get an insight into what to expect, or how your own experience may have compared. This is stuff that we don't really see being reported after overseas disasters so hopefully there's some value in it for others. Life has pretty much returned to normal for me, I'm quite relaxed despite the occasional aftershock. I'm not feeling them very often anymore but we did have a magnitude 5.0 yesterday which was the biggest we'd had for a while. Also a very close, and surprisingly loud, 4.1 this evening.
