It was ordered new from Chevrolet in the US and bought to Australia for use as a fire truck for a division of the Australian Rural fire service of the time, I am not sure when it was decomisioned but I have made an offer to the owner to purchased the machine. His son has got the beast to run and it is complete, this could be a fun restoration project, or could sit in a shed for another 80 years.
