I've been reading through a recent DPReview.com ultrazoom group comparison looking for a camera to get my dad, but y'know, tech specs can only go so far. I'm wondering if any of you own or have used recent-model point-and-shoot ultrazoom cameras and would care to share your experiences with them. The Pentaxian in me wants to just get an X90, but the fact that it's based on a platform that so many other companies are using bothers me a little, like it's not a real Pentax.
Any anecdotes and/or recommendations would be immensely appreciated.
