It is definitely a bug (which is a subgroup of insects). Belongs to a group 
called the Heteroptera. It's hard to tell with all of the camouflage on it. 
This group is nearly all plant suckers (they have piercing mouthparts like a 
mosquito only bigger). A small group (assassin bugs and bedbugs) suck blood 
from humans and, the former, transmit Chagas disease, but this one is 
definitely a plant biter.

The other "bugs" belong to homoptera, but they have transparent wings, like 
cicadas.
