Micro-FourThirds is FourThirds revised for all electronic viewing
systems. That's all.

All electronic viewing systems are simply more effective for the size
of the format than optical reflex view finders. The shorter mount
register possible with an all electronic viewfinder is also a better
fit for the format, allowing much more flexibility in lens design at
lower cost.

I suspect that within not so much time *all* the manufacturers
(including Nikon, Canon, Pentax too) will have their take on this for
the current "APS-C" sensor format standards. It makes the most sense.
SLRs will become a niche product for more specialized needs and larger
sensor cameras where the moving mirror reflex design is technically
less expensive to make and has more value.

I have no interest in the "Nikon vs Canon" or "everyone else vs
Olympus" brand wars. I have an interest in the technology, in what
makes sense for different purposes, and in diversity in the available
technology being offered. Diversity means choice, more choice is
better: from diversity comes health and strength.
