Dave,

Say the first line of your speech, then tear up and claim you can't
continue. Turn to your daughter, tell her you love her (through
intermittent sobs) then go hug her. Everybody will cry, clap and
comment on what a loving father you are. A few years from now they'll
all think you gave a great speech though they won't remember what you
said exactly.
