I've been looking at graduated ND filters. And I have to admit, I've always been a little confounded by them.
Every one I've ever seen the graduation starts smack in the middle of the filter. But seeing as how the rules of composition dictate we are to place our horizon either on the upper or lower third, I just don't see how this kind of graduated filter would be very useful. Now the Cokin system where you can adjust the filter up and down and place the graduation exactly where you want it makes much more sense to me. But the Cokin filters are plastic and that doesn't appeal much to me either, though I have used them extensively in the past.
