Interesting. Is it the name, the heritage, what? Just curious. After shooting Pentax film for over 10 years, when I got a D60 I wasn't at all enamored with it - it was plasticky and felt a bit cheap. The brand didn't bother me because - let's face it - anyone shooting Pentax doesn't give a stuff about branding. But when I got a 1D mark II it was such a pleasure to use - the layouts of the controls are pretty unconventional, yet once learned were faster than anything I can recall. The actual design of the camera is ergonomically pleasing, and (at the risk of making Godders wince) actually beautiful. Really like it. Seriously - I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but the 1D as an object is right up there with an Aston Martin in my eyes. I would imagine that most mid-range cameras aren't to my liking - Canon, Nikon or Pentax - except the K7 that i saw at GFM was really nice - and would definitely consider one (or K5) as the design and ergonomics looked great. So what is the big thing about hating a Canon? -- Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ---------- http://www.cottysnaps.com _____________________________ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
