Saturday we went to "the Races," a charity event to benefit our local
hospital that features steeplechase races, including The Grand
National. People pay to rent a spot along the track, or on the hill
overlooking the track, and extravagant tailgate parties are the norm.
There is also a little friendly betting on the races, and this man
from our group just won the pot on the featured race:
