Some of them are pretty funny. I'm pretty sure the Capitol Hill / Hotel
one was 'shopped though, not just use of a tele as suggested.

That series has been around for a while. I saw it in another blog several months ago.

The DC Hyatt is three blocks from the Capitol, about the same walking distance from the Capitol as is the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
