I had a cat in my freezer for about 6 months. It was my beloved alley
cat, Bandit, who passed at the approximate age of 20. I never knew
exactly how old he was, because I had lured him into our house many
years ago when I lived in Jersey. He lived in the woods behind my house,
eating insects and field mice. I put bowls of cat food on the porch for
a few weeks, and he decided he much prefered that over hunting, and
eventually moved in. Well, as I said he hung around for a couple of
decades, then died in his sleep last January. I sat up with him his last
night, because I could see that he wasn't going to make it to morning.
He opened his eyes every once in awhile to make sure I was still there.
At around three in the morning, he shivered a little bit, then never
opened his eyes again. My wife wanted to bury him in the backyard, so I
put him in the deepfreeze to wait for the spring thaw. I got busy with a
lot of things in the spring and didn't bury him until July. But he was a
patient cat and didn't mind one bit.
