All the constitution says is that you can say what you want without getting arrested. To my knowledge, this entire affair has been conducted in a constitutional manner. You can say what you want, and I can disagree with you as much as I want. The constitution does not imply that I have to accept any comments on anyone's part without calling them out for it. All it means is that I can't call the cops. if you walk into a restaurant and call the owner a "faggot", he can throw you out in a righteously constitutional fashion. No political correctness here, just pissing off enough people who yell back.
