Guys, what if you lowered the tone. Everyone can have their opinion and
let us not start yet another brand vs brand silliness...
K-5 is most capable camera but it is not the *only* one out there.

What exactly does the 7D adds to a K-5 if not a stupidly higher price tag ?
I don't get it...

No, Canon lacks a direct competitor, the K-5 slots in between the 7D
and the 60D but offers better build& sealing than either in a package
smaller than the 60D (which is rather compact already).
The 5DmII is Canon's highest-end non-pro body and costs around $1000
more than a K5 while offering mediocre AF (which it shares with the
Rebels), sealing in name only, slightly more than half the fps and a
much larger sensor.

The 5DmII's AF is a sore point for Canon shooters. The high ISO on the
other hand is excellent.

I rarely read Pentax forum, but I did today since I'm curious about their
k-5 posts. This guy claims to be a Canon shooter and says the K-5 autofocus
is superior. I haven't tested the autofocus enough to determine how good it
is, but I have yet to experience a problem. Interesting that he's not that
wild about the high ISO performance of the Pentax, which pretty much blew me
away. Perhaps the 5000 is very good in that regard. Don't know.
