Thanks, Christine! I agree, cropping out the foot of the next post would be a good thing to do; I'll have to trim a bit on the right, too, to keep the subject a bit off-center.
The problems with the bookshop photo were that the day was bright, the window dirty, and the shop closed--otherwise we could have provided a clear pic! I have no idea what the thing with the padlocks is. At least 3 bridges over the Seine have them. Maybe one of our French colleagues can clear the mystery?
