Well I've finally pulled the trigger. I've just ordered myself an Epson V500.
I've been waffling because I was concerned I wouldn't be happy with the image quality. Then I found some high-res samples on flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/alfredobelohlavek/) and I was sold. The images look fantastic, and with the OEM film holder too. The cherry on top is that the scanner is currently on sale at Adorama for $122 with free shipping.
