I posted something a few moths ago that sparked the usual discussion
among the informed. the verdict was that the pentax tech was not
telling the truth. I don't care who ultimately knows better but the
pentax tech said to leave it on a powered on camera for some time
without trying to make it focus and then to exercise it manually for a
bit. according to the pentax tech this technique will work if the
drive hasn't failed but is electrically discharged from sitting on a
shelf for too long and needs recharging plus also some help with
overcoming stiction. heck, you could give it a try =)
