Hello everyone, Just thought I would share my plans for next weekend. I am off to do the annual photo rally being run by the local photolab.
It starts at 9am on Saturday. We get one topic to start and then 2 per hour with the last one at 1pm (total of 8 topics plus 1 optional topic). We are given one 24+3 exposure Agfa film on which to capture our topics. We must hand our film in to the organisers by 9pm, and return to pick up and display the prints that night. We choose one print for each topic and hand them in. The next day there is a prize-giving, with prizes (camera equipment and film) for each category by camera brand, and age-group. Plus the overall prize of a mystery trip for two. Also spot prizes that you must be there to collect. The first year I entered with my Spotmatic and won a prize. Last year I used my MZ-30 and they said I almost got a prize, but missed out. This year I will use my LX and see how I go. The topics are usually really abstract eg. "Shattered", "Fragile", "Short and Curly" which have so many interpretations. One I remember from last year was "Rain". Rain was forecast for the day, but it turned out brilliantly sunny, and the organisers were feeling sadistic and decided to keep it in. I am getting really excited about it.
