Ken - bay photo is who does the work for smugmug sales ... I'm
using them exclusively now and offering buyers luster, glossy or
metalic - but I haven't looked at any of my stuff printed on the
metal yet.... didn't realize they were really printed on aluminum.
I know one smugmugger who shows his things and doesn't care for
it... not sure why.
The presentation is unique & I really like it. I've seen lots of
images displayed at street fairs but have never seen them presented
this way. I suppose some types of photography would not lend itself
to this type of presentation.
Which photo did you have printed, by the way?
'Backseat Driver' in hi gloss with 3/16" rounded corners.
ah perfect... well they certainly cant mess that up - its a great shot
and nothing trickly about the lighting.
In a couple of weeks I'll order a 5 x 7 of each of the finishes from
bay photo so I can actually see what they are doing :-)
Remember, for the first order you'll get a 25 % discount.
Thanks, I don't think that applies in that way to me...
I get prints through my own website that are processed by bay photo and
it is at the base price from smugmug.... I wouldn't
order directly from bayphoto. I just want to see what a customer would
get when they order off my smugmug webpage.
My friend's son inlaw just ordered three prints from the family stuff ,
which I didn't know until I saw the proof pages come up.
ugh... all of them were terrible images technically.. I'd just put them
up for the family in a rush... I had to remake all three files.
anyway, glad to hear the metalic is good lookin
