I first saw baloon bursting photos at MIT in the 60's.
Doc Edgerton pioneered high speed flash, and
opened his labs to students.  By the 60's, it was
bullets thru baloons, apples, the King of Diamonds on edge...
Dangerous things are a magnet for undergraduates!
