do you perhaps need to change the refreh rate to one supported by your monitor? (doubt this, if so, it should display 'input out of range' but you can try) also, have you tried testing with another DVI adaptor and/or cable? also, do you need to enable the external display in system settings? just some guesswork here for lack of being a mac user hth ecke
