I've had the same conversation with Photo Managers at Costco, and of course the high end Pro shops.
Rather than moving units, Pentax has always been more interested in maintaining their price point in hopes that Canikon will lower their high Pro prices (for better spec'd units) to undercut Pentax, leaving Pentax as the high priced spread that the monied folk will lust after.
