I wonder if having a third picture, where a person would briskly walk by
you would be a logical consequence of your idea...

"I'm always fascinated with the capture of motion in still
photographs. I made the first exposure as I was pondering the balance
of light and dark, hard and soft edges in the scene in front of me.
Just after I'd made the exposure, the bicyclist entered the frame and
I immediately made a second. Seeing just one didn't do anything for
me, but when I framed them together a different statement emerged
from the combination of images."
