After some processing delays and a bit of phone tag, I finally got the pathology results today from my prostate surgery 2+ weeks ago. All very positive - the cancer was contained within the body part they removed, absolutely no sign of any spread beyond that location. I had been quite optimistic from the beginning based on comments from several urologists and the fact that my cancer was identified quite early. But 'tis a relief to have confirmation!
I have now become an advocate for periodic physical exams. I was lucky - I had been many years without a physical, but for no particular reason decided to have a full work-up this summer. Listen to the voice of experience guys! Go get a PSA test.
