Hi

I'm trying to find out if Z-1p screens, in particular the FK-60 (AF sensor
field with golden section), can be fitted to other Pentax bodies, such as
the SFX/SFXn and the MZ-5/MZ-5n.

I've seen the recent PDML threads mentioning the use of an MZ-M focusing
screen in the SFXn and the MZ-5, but no mention of Z-1p screens. Bojidar
Dimitrov's site states that Z-1p screens are brighter than those for the Z1
are, so I'm not sure how the two Z1 bodies relate to other Pentax bodies in
terms of brightness. The site also states that, apart from the MX and LX, a
qualified technician must perform screen exchanges (!)

Is removing the standard screen from and adding a replacement to the MZ-5 or
SFX really as simple as some of the threads on PDML have seemed to suggest?
Although Bojidar Dimitrov's site states that the SFX has interchangeable
screens, other bodies, such as the MZ-5 and Z-20, are listed as not having
interchangeable screens. I find this conflicting information confusing. Is
the difference between a body with a screen considered interchangeable by
Pentax and one not considered interchangeable significant?

Thanks
