I haven't tried one of the USB ones yet but my daughter has a couple of the
EyeClops brand microscopes.  The only problem we've had with the one that
plugs into the TV is that it can be tricky to focus.  The one that saves
images onto a memory card has an extremely dim screen, I need to tinker with
it to change the light output.

Being able to see the images on the TV has worked great though. Much better
than the old manual style microscopes.
