Street photography is a state of mind, not a type of place. That pretentious statement would probably sit well in a street photography mailing list, but it's sort of true. I cite in my defence the work of Tony Ray-Jones, Robert Frank, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Kertesz, Elliott Erwitt, every other 'street' photographer I can think of. They all took photographs in places that are a lot smaller than wherever you live. You don't need to be in a city. All you need to do is take pictures confidently. My experience is that people pick up on your hesitation and nervousness, and that spooks them. If you behave as though you're doing something furtive surreptitiously, then your victimms, er I mean subjects, will believe that you are being furtive and surreptitious. > The 2nd young woman's pose really makes this one: > http://members.iinet.net.au/~derbyc/10/10_12/10_12_c41/04.htm > > Love this one too: > http://members.iinet.net.au/~derbyc/10/10_12/10_12_c41/11.htm > > Thanks for sharing! -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
