Thank you for the greetings and wishes, Ralf. Most recent inspection of
price watch site indicated that K-5 is offered here for USD 2,700.
Right, that's the figure. I can still order it from the official dealer
for USD 1750 but it will be a special order and as such it would mean
that if my unit arrives defective, I'd be somewhat out of water.
Actually, I will be both out of money and out of camera...
I am starting to only semi-seriously think that it will be more
beneficial for me to ask someone to buy a camera on my behalf in US of
A, have it tested by that person and sent to me. I'd be willing to pay
someone for such an effort. It is so damn annoying here...

We've just returned from France. Two wonderful weeks on the Channel
coast plus a day trip to Kent and East Sussex. Who could ask for more.
Read all your New Year's messages but France Telecom's mobile internet
was such a mess that I wasn't able to send any emails during the whole
stay. So now, here's my best wishes to one and all.
A few shots from those two weeks can be seen on my blog, more will
follow in the next days.
K-5 number four seems to be OK, and all I can say is that the K-5 is
lightyears ahead of anything I've ever used. I've made a whole lot of
pictures I never would have been able to take without it, neither with
film nor digital. Hand-held shots in poorly lit ship's engine rooms,
night shots of moving objects - this camera is incredible.
2011 will be a great photo year. :-)
