Haven't heard any more. I suspect a few cameras actually had sensor spots, which led to numerous chicken littles seeing spots where there were none. A lot of the cluckers on Pentax forum were testing by shooting a piece of paper with a somewhat wide lens at f22. If one does that, a speck on the paper can show up as a blob.
If there were a substantial number of cameras with spotted sensors, i would guess they're now out of the pipeline at stores that move a lot of merchandise.
