I've found the Pentax manuals useful. Far better than the Sony or Canon manuals 
I've read. They include topics like setting fine focus adjustment, fine tuning 
white balance options, and other topics that go well beyond what might be 
provided for "someone who barely knows which end of the camera to point at the 
subject." Plenty of info on using flashes as well, with topics like flash 
compensation, contrast control, and high-speed synch. I can't really think of 
anything that I attempted to look up and was unable to find.
