I like 'em both, but like the 2nd one best. It's warm and inviting!
Only thing I'd change on #2 is try to make it more level. But I'm a boring
rigid-geometry kinda guy.

Hmmm the verticals ( shelf, coffee maker) vertical to me - but it
isn't in the nature of the place to be level :-)
sadly, that includes, I just discovred, the level of food quality -
yesterday I had two delicious freshly made beignets -
so delicious I had to go back to day for the coffee and 3 beignet
special. NO brewed decaf available - only powdered Sanka.
and the beignets were not freshly made and they were overly oily as
well. Sigh...
anyway, you aint' so boring
