Lack of DOF switch is an annoyance, but you should be able to reprogram the
Live View switch. Or, for that matter try using Live View for checking DOF.
Focusing in Live View is an interesting experience. I don't remember details,
just that it is interesting.

I'm so used to the K-x viewfinder I hadn't even noticed. This prompted me to
pull out the SRT-101 and yes the old 35mm viewfinder is much bigger, probably
by about the difference in frame size.

I was actually very impressed at how well the control set works with so few
buttons. On the K-x I miss the front dial wheel from my K20. On my K20 I miss
having all of the buttons accessible via my thumb. Going to the K20, it's also
annoying to try to adjust aperture by hitting the +/- button, and instead hit
the green button and have it totally reset the exposure.

Press info a couple of times to turn it off. I set the menu for memory
functions to remember the display state, it should say off.

After that first attempt, I had no problem with the flash, and the dial wheel
seemed to continue to improve.

It was my pleasure to test it out for you. As much as I love my K-x, I was
very sorely missing the improvements in the K-r, both in features and in
performance.
