Ok, this is quick and did not have the controls necessary for a proper test.
But
The S-M-C Tak is just as sharp across the whole frame
I do think the warm coatings of the SMCT (like the F/FA & newer) improves the 
relative contrast of a lens.  The cool blue coatings of the A have their place 
when it comes to certain color characteristics, but overall I today prefer the 
amber coating hue.

The one item that I noted was the spot above the wiper blade in the bottom 
center of the windshield.  It is sharp on both pics.

Perhaps later I will take them both outside for some more serious shooting.

IOW, a circa 1970 lens equals or betters a c. 1985 lens.
