Hi Paul, Before the 60-250 came out I was looking at replacing my 50-200 Sigma lens. I took a memory card into a shop and did some test shots with the Pentax 50-200 and 55-300 and neither could convince me to change.
I am however very happy with the 60-250. I got mine by having CR Kennedy price match what I could get it for from B&H. At the time they were retailing in Australia for AU$2900 which was far too much (I think they are about AU$1300 now). It's a heavy lens but it's worth the extra weight when you want the quality. The others don't come close.
